Fashion Cultures returns to the Merchant City Festival with an exciting programme dedicated to the tools of adornment: perfume, hair and make up. The programme will recognise that fashion isn't just an object or a retail experience but is a rich economy and culture that impacts on all sectors of society. It will be a celebration of the role that perfume, hair and make up play within the culture of Glasgow, the pleasure that people take in dressing up and going out, as well as the politics of adornment and enhancement.

Highlights include workshops led by professional make up artists from Illamasqua – Britain's most exciting and innovative make up brand, Glasgow School of Art run art and design workshops within the glorious surroundings of Jigsaw, Ingram Street and An Evening With Comme Des Garcons Parfum - an evening of pairing cocktails and food inspired by incredible fragrances.
