Food and Drink

This year we are celebrating our country's outstanding natural larder and produce as part of the Year of Food and Drink Scotland 2015. Come and taste the very best Scotland has to offer at the Merchant City Festival. But it's not just homegrown food, we have a full range of world cuisine for you to sample to get the taste buds tingling. Join us for a celebration of all things delicious!

For the first time Merchant City Festival opens its gates to Tontine Lane which will transform in to an animated environment with street food, pop up dining, art installations and cinematic projections with drinks from the Heverlee Belgian Beer Cafe Bar and beats provided by the Sub Club.

We also have 9 full days of exciting food themed events kicking off with Mono's Big Green Welcome, a series of events drawing on Mono's penchant for food, music and art focusing on notions of sustainability and DIY. Our friends at 13th Note ask us to Why Not Give Vegetarianism/Veganism A Try For A Day where they celebrate everything vegetarian and vegan. We even have The Yelling Kitchen Prince who performs a circus rock concert on his unique kitchen-organ drumset. There is more for the kids too with the Chips Cowboys shooting range where you shoot a potato through a grid that cuts potatoes in to chips!
